Default A/C Delete

Not sure if this is the right place to post this. But is there a write up on how to remove the A/C. Have searched and can't seem to find anything.

Not planning on doing this anytime soon, just want to know how if I do decide.

Thanks.

its pretty straightforward. just need to evacuate your system LEGALLY, take your belts off, and unbolt the compressor, lines and anything else in the way. also remember to remove your condenser in front of the radiator, it will be dead weight.

just LOOK at it and decide, it shouldnt take you more than an hour to take it all apart.

Really? I thought there would be alot to it..

Is there a way I can legally remove the refrigerant myself, or do I need to take it somewhere?

Thanks for the reply..

lol open it to the air and stand back, cause it will freeze your hands and face.

But seriously they make reclaim equipment or just take it to a shop and get it done. Can't imagine that it would cost that much to do.

Yeah I wouldn't think it would cost that much either.

So there are no write ups on here with pics showing how to do this? Ha Ha, that figures. If I do it I might try and do a write up, probably wouldn't be very good though. would probably just get in a hurry and forget to show a step.

Wonder how much all that would weight? Compressor, Condensor Coil, etc.
30-50 lbs?

no take it to a shop and have them evacuate it. theres a hefty fine involved in draining it yourself if you are caught.

it is quite simple to unbolt everything and remove. the condenser and compressor are pretty heavy, id say around 10-15 lbs for the compressor and like 10 lbs for the condenser. the accumulator and lines are probably a total of 5 lbs or so.

Yeah i bet a shop will evacuate the system for free because you are basically giving them the refrigerant for free. Because the are going to just use it again in another car

What size belt would you need if you removed the compressor? Just wondering if one may already know this question.

You wouldn't need to change the belt size. The compressor has it's own belt. Would just have to remove it, and put the big belt back on.

Just curious to if you have ever gotten around to taking some pics? I would really like to see what it looks like under the hood.

Thanks.
