I don't understand....why would you paint the cme fascia black if your car is silver? but if you're talking about the exhaust tips being painted black I'd say no b/c if you darken the tips up it'll just look like there isn't anything there from behind the car. That's the whole point of slp adding the lips to these tips. If you want to see what I'm talking about look at the non slp cme tips floating around without the lips.

I dont see the point in painting it black either. i think it would just look out of place on there. Just have it blended in to the bumper and be done with it.

Dont bother painting them black, if you want them black just don't wash then for 2 month and they will be black I have also seen a guy chrome his and they are a lot easier to keep clean that way.

out of your two options i would leave them silverish.. but if it was me i would either chrome em or polish them up and spray some clear on there that way they they look awesome and are easy to keep clean..

its just a paint to keep em clean! I already cleared em once with clear engine enamel and it didnt seem to make much of a difference...

I painted mine black and polished the lip. It brings more focus to the face of the tips and really stands out.

Is the whole tip painted silver now? If so some sanding stages, then polishing would be required to get the shine back to the lip...and you have to wipe the black **** off frequently to make it easy on yourself

I've seen something like this done before. It looked gorgeous.

IIRC they were powdercoated in black.

Unlike everyone else, I highly advise doing it.

You should defintely either chrome them or have them ceramic coated. I had mine ceramic coated and it looks pimp

I replaced my tips years ago and when I did I tried to keep then as clean as possible. You will have to wipe them down after every trip you make. They get really hot and if you don't do this the dirt will bake on to your tips making it harder to clean. Chrome tips are more forgiving I would go that route.
