I would really like to see your write up as well.
Only thing I noticed I actually didnt like was how the LEDs were lighting up the inside of the mirror housing as well as shining through the mirror. Possible way to cover up the back and sides of the leds to where you will only see the LED is through the mirror?
Also Adobe products have never worked well on this computer for some reason and I cant load the Evilbads one.

Its not to bad at all. Just move the mirror all the way in so there is a gap on the outside. Then get your fingers in behind them and pull. They will pop out.

Looks good! I tried the other method involving the grinding on a used mirror a ways back - the grinding part looked like a rats *** then tried etching the mirrored coating off using a mask - nothing would touch the coating, even used hydrofloric and sulfuric acid.
To stop the edge bleedthru you could paint the slight exposed edge of the glass around the mirror with a small artist brush and flat black paint...

Wow, this looks exactly like mine except the light doesn't shine through inside the mirror and I did mine first! haha!
I used LED's from a GM truck mirror. They fit perfect and are simple to install.
Here is my write-up. go to the third page for the complete write-up.
