why did you guys put them on a block of wood?? when i did mine i didn't put them on anything

Because the metal oven racks can get hot enough to melt into the headlight housing. The block of wood keeps the housings from directly touching the oven.

hmm mine didn't melt, i guess if i ever do them again i will put down something just to be safe
