That's an understatement... Tomorrow we will put one SLIGHTLY remedied on the car and make a bunch of measurements to make a LOT of changes on the design... Should have pics if it doesn't look too bad

Ok, here's a bunch of pics from Prototype 1.5 This was made just to get the assembly part correct. We still have to change the horizontal bar angles AND LENGTHS.

We are also probably going to make the bars pitch down a little... Anyways, hope to have Prototype 2 (with all the changes I already talked about in this post and a few more done) finished by Friday.

Until then, here's some pics in raw aluminum...

It is getting there. I think after Prototype 2 is finished then it will just be a little bit of refining have a finished product on Prototype 3.

That's the good news. The bad news is I've spent more on this project than any others so far because it is extremely time consuming for my guy to make.

I don't pay him for any design time or anything, he just charges me what the final cost for each piece will be from the beginning. With that said, I have an idea on pricing.

THIS WILL NOT BE A CHEAP PRICED GRILLE LIKE THE EBAY BILLET GRILLES UNFORTUNATELY

HOWEVER, THIS WILL NOT BE A CHEAP ALUMINUM, STAMPED IN CHINA, GENERIC LOW QUALITLY GRILLE LIKT THE EBAY BILLET GRILLES FORTUNATELY

PRELIMINARY PRICING is as follows...

Do it yourself ABS grille (comes in pieces you assemble) $80

Aluminum Grille RAW (no powder or paint) $200

Aluminum Grille Powder Coated Satin Black $225

And to be honest, those are my discounted GP prices. More than likely add $25 across the board for my everyday pricing.

JUST TO PUT PRICING INTO PERSPECTIVE... This is still cheaper than all the other grille options of the same caliber of quality (SLP, RK Sport, etc...)... Search for yourself:

http://www.google.com/products?q=slp...e+camaro&hl=en

I will also have an option so that we can ship the raw grille directly to Sean (Silver Ghost/Powder Pro) to be powder coated any color you want.

I am REALLY considering powder coating my rims and a grille in a gunmetal grey for my own car

For those interested, I also carry just the normal black billet grille and the same thing with the blue bowtie now...

mark, have your guy put a very small bend in all the horizonal bars. bend the center of them all down about 1/2" and then put it together. it will fill in the bottom. or have just the bottom one bent. and the vertical bars made longer to match it.

We're probably going to slant ALL of the horizontal bars at an angle just a little bit. We just realized today that is how the billet grilles are...

I figure by Prototype 2 all the obvious problems will be fixed and then I can scrutinize it and have a great piece by Prototype 3...

Hmm, have you thought of not having a bar in the center? I don't know if you're too far into it, but I'm not certain the vertical bar in the middle helps the appearance of it or hurts it.

I remember/know you've been on the f-body scene for years and years from your posts on camaroz28, so I bet you'll remember another f-body that had a grill similar to this.

I don't personally believe Callaway used thick enough metal. I like the thickness you're using.

^^^Hmmm.... I never paid enough attention to the Callaways to notice that. When I first read this in my e-mail notification I was like, "What?" Then I saw the pic and I was like, "Hmmm..."

It would be a super easy option to add. I just change some notches and add a bar...

I must say, your photoshop (with the bars extended and in place) really makes me want to get him cracking on Prototype 2

The pictures you posted almost make it seem as if it was placed upside down. So I did a little photoshop to see what it would look like the other way, and I think it looks alot better.

Here's another version with 7 horizontal spokes instead of 5 (I was curious..)

props to blkcamss for posting a great HQ picture to work with.

^^Ha! It looks funky due to the length of the bars. I didn't want a tight fit for the test fit (and scratch my bumper up worse than it is. Finished product will be the exact same lengths as billet grilles and will have the same, undefined, "shape".

E-mail sent to my fabricator over the 7 bar design. It looks great in pics, I'm wondering if it will look good in real life.

Regardless, blindxeyed and blkcamss both just got themselves whatever part I offer that they want at my cost

You just have to read this and respond

Are you kidding? The only thing I'm interested in is the splitter, and there's no way I could accept that for a simple 10 minute photoshop.

Yes I am and yes you can I don't put a lot of profit on so it wouldn't be cheap anyways
