I use bug & tar removers on the front of my car, and even then the stuff doesn't come off. I find that using a high pressured hose (like at the do it yourself car washes) works to get the really stuck on crap off.
Just an idea.
I used this **** on my wife's mom's white van , whihc had NEVER been washed in 3 years, and sat under a tree most of it's life, not to mention it has like 6 windows from the conversion, and they all have black **** running down from them from the cheap-*** sealant. Let's just say, the van was sparkling white again. It removes everything, easily!! Be sure to rinse it thoroughly though!

I use the bug and tar remover in the blue and white can that you can get at any auto parts store. I can't remember the name for the life of me now but I know the can when I see it. It is the cheap stuff in liquid form and it has mineral spirits in it. The trick is to get your rag soaked in the stuff and use lots of it. Let it sit for a little bit and then keep scrubbing. Go over the area that you used it on with a good wax after. Then stay on top of the wheel wells and other areas like the rocker panels. I usually wipe mine down once a week and if you don't let it get bad it is very easy to maintain. I have found that the spray on removers don't work worth a hoot.

I looked at the can last night it is Turtle Wax Bug and Tar Remover.
