A hair dryer usually works pretty well. A graphics guy told me that acetone works pretty well, but I've never tried it.

right. We do this all the time to take the stripes/graphics off the cop cars before they go to auction, never had a problem.

im not sure, i like the stripes but the black is very very dull, it looks pretty bad in person. im considering maybe getting an ss hood with some 35th anniversary stripes instead, or maybe getting a cowl hood and getting ssome stripes painted on, or maybe just the cowl hood with no stripes. im very very undecided in case u couldn't tell

Hair dryer is the way to go. If there's any glue left you can use WD-40 as a safe (but slow) way to get it off.

Don't be put off by stripes in general on account of these going dull. Paint's better, but for the money you can't beat vinyl, as long as it's premium 2-mil cast and not calendered. Calendered costs a third the money, lasts a couple years and dominates the market. It's making a bad name for vinyl that really isn't deserved. Sorry, don't mean to preach.
