Default Whats the diff in the Raptor hood and Firehawk?

I've been looking at some pics and granted not from exact same angles but these two hoods look the same. Anybody actually know the difference in the two that have seen them or had them? Thanks.

I think the major difference is the center section where it meets the front bumber in between the headlights. For a firehawk hood, you have to modify the front bumper, but with the raptor you don't as it's designed to work with a stock bumper.

Well, they are optional for an additional $250 I think.

They are, I have them on mine, but they arent on the sides, they're on the back of the cowl.

The Firehawk hood has sharper edges and needs to be modified if you dont have a Firehawk front bumper from the factory. The Raptor hood on the other hand has more rounded edges, more of a buldge on the hood (from what i can see when my TA is next to a legit Firehawk) and fits without any modification.

I dont know what color TA you have but heres a picture of my NBM TA with the angle that I think best describes what I mean about how the hood has more rounded edges than the Firehawk hood. Also, look at where the bumper meets the hood.

Ok cool I wanted something like the ram air cause it's higher "bubbles" but like the firehawk cause it don't have the snorkel seperator up front. I think i'll go with the raptor hood, plus then I wont have to hunt down a firehawk bumper. Thanks.

make sure to get the suncoast airbox if you get the raptor hood, it routes the air differently than the firehawk hood and other stock hoods. The raptor hood has the air flow down through the filter, while the stock hoods have the air come in thru the front of the airbox and up thru the filter then into the throttle body. I felt a difference when I had the stock airbox on with the raptor hood, before receiving the suncoast airbox.

Sorry no there is no need for modification to the stock bumper, unfortunately i know this because when i hit a deer with my car had to get the bumper and hood replaced they just put a stock firebird bumper on it. But firehawk hoods look so much better my buddy had a raptor hood didn't like the way it met up with the bumper

Firehawk hood uses the stock bumper, but the bumper IS TRIMMED to fit the lines of the hood.

Raptor hood fits the stock lines.

(This shows the SLP HO hood, but the Raptor hood is similar. The photo notes where the bumper is trimmed.)

Did you look at the photos?!?

If you have a Firehawk, & the hood rests on TOP of the nostril-material, then you have a problem. (You wouldn't have happened to buy a NBM convertible in the Omaha area did ya?!?)
