What is the deal with C5 corvette seats? Are they complete garbage? Every single C5 that i look at that has over 30k miles the drivers seat is all cracked and looks like complete *******.

It's the fact that most people don't give a **** about their car's interior and let it go to hell.

Combined with GM's top notch matterials they fall appart faster than a Chinese Motorcycle.

I found the stock C5 seats to be jst as lacking as the Camaro sreats were in my Z28..
That being said..if you find a set of C5 sport seats they are a bit better..they give a s much support as the TA seats do..

C5 seats are running about 5-700 bucks used

I used a set of Corbeaus in my Camaro which wre REALLY great.

Mark Arzien makes an adapter for Sparco and his own for C5's I bet they could be adapted for Camaros too

Just out of curiosity what model Corbeau did you go with? Got any pics?

I wouldn't let cracked seats deter you from buying a car. You can always have them recovered or buy new ones.

My '00 SS Convertible with Corbeau VX2000 seats:

Edit: You want a Corvette, but I thought you still might want to see the seats.

Now I just need to tackle the rest of the interior. Anyone got an idea where to get automotive/marine grade leather? Uncle google is decidedly unhelpful on that one (or the AG/MG leather vendors suck at teh interwebs

its a sign of how the car was treated. i wouldnt dare. more likely to be a person that didnt change the oil enough either, etc.

Sorry to disagree... but really all bad seats show are that either the car wasn't garaged and the sun got them.(Which is also a concern for the paint.)

Or that they simply didn't maintain the interior of the car.

I'd check the rest of the car over carefully.... as you should whenever buying a used car... but I wouldn't let bad seats alone deter you from the buy.

I just have a general rule when it comes to buying a used car:

either recover seats with new leather and padding or

get aftermarket seats.
