Default Door Panel Help Needed!

Ok well in my 96 T/A the trim piece that goes around the door handle keeps sagging out because the hole that the screw goes in is stripped out from the previous owner. Does anyone have any ideas of how to fix this? Here is a picture just so you know what I'm talking about...

i have the same problem as do many people. my other 99 camaro i somehome manuvered a bolt on the backside and used a screw but it was hard. My 2000 camaro has the same problem and im thinking about JB quick welding a thin nut on the frontside of the door, and on the backside if the trim piece so i can used a screw and it will tighten down tight (but not tight enough to crack the plastic of course)

I used 2-part LocTite plastic epoxy. I filled in the screw hole and added a layer over the hole and area to make about an inch round. When the epoxy hardened, I drilled a pilot hole in the original location the size of the shaft of the screw. Then I re-installed the panel with the same stock screw. The screw cut its own new threads.

That sounds like a good idea, I'm probably going to try that. Thanks. Where did you get the loctite stuff?

Home Depot

Any 2-part plastic epoxy should work.

the two part plastic worked great. Did it yesterday, it was easy and didn't take long at all. Thanks!
