goo gone should not be a big deal, because it is a natural cleaner. i'd be really careful though. I agree with the clay bar, just to be safe.

OK bud lets get something straight. Ive been detailing for 8years now and every shop Ive every worked at or managed for that manner has always had a nice 5gal drum of laquer thinner to remove tar and road grim from the lowers of vehicles. Yes if you leave a soaked rag to sit it will damage the clear. But if your only using it on a rag and wiping it clean then guess what, no harm no foul. Go to any experienced detail shop and I garuntee that 95 percent of them use laquer thinner or hell even xylene for that matter. The reason being is they cant spend all day taking road grim off the bottom of one car with somthing alot less agressive. Hence why they use what they use because its quicker. You just need to know what your doing with it thats all.

A plastic razor blade works wonders. Then use painters tape in the future.

Try using Geddex Burnout Guard - sprays on rear quarters and rubber wipes right off after. Always worked well for me...

Rubbing alcohol works pretty well. Get a bottle at the store - at least 70% - and an old porous rag (like a wash rag) and knock as much off as you can, then scrub it. Wear gloves though, that crap gets under your nails and is hard to get off of yourself!

I have really never had to much of a problem with it. I usually keep so much wax on it that I can just wash and wipe and its all clean. If I do any doughnut I usually can just wipe it off the rims too.

at our shop we have some stuff you can spray on before you go to the track, or do a burnout and then the rubber will easily spray off, or wipe off. it is made by "The Wax Shop", and it is called race gurad. they might have stopped carrying it im not real sure.

"Nylon Spotter," by the company Trans Mate takes the rubber off my fenders easily and doesn't hurt the paint but itll **** up your skin if you get it on you. I use it to get tar/rubber/road paint/brake dust, basically anything on the car that needs to come off before wax. I usually rub cheap wax on the bumper behind my wheels before I go so it doesn't stick.
