Default Burnout Rubber

This may be a stupid question, but what is the best way/product to use in removing caked on burnout tire rubber off the fender. I tried a pressure washer and it was not very effective.

Try Pepboys for a can of "elbow-grease", you weakling.

I would use a clay bar.

Believe it or not some lighter fluid or do what I do and use some laquer thinner. The laquer thinner is probably more effective, but you will need to wax or polish the areas as it will leave them a little on the dull side.

Your a dumbass! DO NOT USE LAQUER THINNER!!!! It eats the paint. Use paint thinner. Its safe for the paint and will take the rubber off. AND it wont make the area you rubbed on "dull".

ive always just peeled it off. I usually have a nice coat of wax on there, so you can literally just roll it off.

I used a 3M adhesive remover. Stuff smelled nasty...and the clear needed a coat of wax afterwards, but it worked.

I used Pam on my car the other night before I did my burnouts and forgot to remove it when I got home, the next day it was a big mess to get off. I may just try masking tape next time. The rubber really sucks to get off.

Next time tape the rear quarter/bumper sides off or spray a nice amount of quick detailer on them and don't let the rubber stay on there a long time.....

paint thinner, laquer thinner, and wd-40/any abrasive lubricant is a bad idea - ESPECIALLY with an airbrushed paint job. get some 2-inch painters tape and a good sized sheet of paper. apply before you do the deed, then worry not, the tape peels right off.

elbow grease.... some of that tar and bug remover...

dont let it stay on so long next time and its not so hard..

i go to the car wash next day (try to) after track and spray the numbers and rubber off... even if all of it doesnt come off.. makes it easier later when i try..

the numbers are a bitch to get off..
