Default Polished or Chrome Brake Caliper Brackets?

I'm powdercoating my calipers red. Now I was going to polish the brackets, but just thought about chroming them. My car has silver and red accents, everything else will be polished. With the exception of Janzter's new TB option. The wheels will be BC Forged BC10s. I'm going to powdercoat the centers black and leave a polished lip. So my question is, will the chrome be enough to throw off the all polished look? I'm just thinking that since it's such a bitch to clean, chrome would be easier. Most people probably wouldn't notice, but I'm trying to picture it. Sorry for making this all so long, just wanted to get my whole "image" across

Thanks guys,
Rob

I say just get em black. I think if you try to polish the brackets that they will rust over time because they re metal (Not 100% sure tho). So you would have to get them chrome anyways.

Thanks for those pics Teri! They helped me out a lot. I was trying to picture how it would look ni my head and it just wasn't happening... I'm going to chrome my brackets, powdercoat the calipers red, and add "Trans Am" caiper decals from after thoughts auto.
Awesome, thanks again,
Rob

What is involved to smooth the parts prior to chroming and powder coating? I will be doing this after I close on my new house in May/June 04.

The parts must be polished to an "almost chrome" like finish before actual triple palte chrome plating. If you do not you will see every defect once the plating is complete. The calipers brackets are difficult for most polishers to tackle due to the fact that most polishers use large wheels and there are some pretty good hard to reach spots on the brackets.

The brackets should be polished first than plated. Without plating they will surely rust withing a few days. They are steel.

Has anyone powdercoated the calipers? I was thinking of powdercoat vs paint with some decals... but I was thinking I'd want clearcoat over the decals... I was also going to chrome the brackets... Any thoughts? Also, what prep work would I need to do for the chroming process? I know I'd need to do a little smoothing for the powdercoating.
