Lightbulb headlights

I'm about to do the whole sand ad polish bit to my 01 z28's headlights they are getting to cloudy for my liking so i was wondering if its worth taking them off the car or just as easy to do on the car and any other little pointers some of the experianced may have for me

mine look shitty. ill probably just replace mine eventually though theyre very expensive.

They have them on E-Bay for $124 each or you can buy the 3M kit to clean them up for $30 on E-Bay also.

I'd say take em off, it's only one 10mm(I think) bolt, lol. I'd be scared to scratch the car with them still on.

You could leave them on and use some brake fluid, it makes the outsides look brand new again.

if your using brake fluid, either take the assenbky off the car or mask of the paint

brake fluid + paint = mucho malo

Ive tried the wet sanding thing, which works but takes time. I have tried the scratch x and wenol and other abrasives and rubbing by hand. The most efficient in both time and quality that I have found is take a high speed buffer, throw some rubbing compound or whatever you are using on the light and just tag them while they were on the car. It took no more than five minutes and gave the best results by far for the time taken.

If you are bored and have time to waste, take them off the car and wet sand then use the Novus 3 step. . . . . .

i tried plastX, headlight repair kit and although the surface was pretty damned smooth and the haze was gone for the most part, i found that there were cracks that seemed to be on the inside of the housing.

if you get to that point, time to get some halos or something.
