If you want to stop faster, upgrade your rotors and pads. From there, you need to focus on tires and suspension. The brakes may work, but if your running shitty tires with a swaying suspension, it isn't going to help.

Edit: ...it's a 2003 5 speed? I don't think I'm ever opening this thread again.

I am really glad I came across this thread. I was about to rip my eyes out just for something entertaining to do because I'm that bored at work but this thread has saved my sight. I thank you.

I've known a lot of people that spent every spare dime on parts to make their car go faster, but they never put any money or thaught into the corect brake caliper paint. Going fast is fun, but being able to stop is even more important. When your car is accelerating and traveling at greater speeds, the brakes take extra punishment. This is why it's a good idea to at least ensure that your brake caliper are receiving proper paint . If you're a true car-modder like myself, you'll probably want to spend a little time researching colors. why spend time with lesser quality upgrades when you can do to ensure you and your car's safety with a simple coat of paint. Some of the things I've also looked at doing or have done include DOT 4 rated brake fluid. Focusing on these parts can make driving your car much more enjoyable and controllable at speed.

The same thing happened to my last vehicle. I was driving at 3:30 in the morning and this porcupine ran out on the road and stopped in front of me. i swerved to avoid hitting the little creature, but i ended up flipping my SUV. i skid down the road almost 100 yards before i crashed into a tree. i spent the night in the hospital and totalled my eddie B

Lesson learned? Next time, just hit the breaks and honk the horn.

They only made a few and you have to be a true car-modder to own one.

Have you drilled holes in the calipers so the heat can dissipate faster?? Thats the first step, let us know how that works and we'll go from there. I'd think chrome would dissapate heat cause its shiny. make sure to do before and after braking tests!

wow. I just lost 5 iq points and 2 minutes of my life....everyone has told you multiple times already what you need to do..Just paint them a little bit of everything and call it a day since color affects performance. Seriously....Upgrade your rotors & pads, throw some vents or ducting on there since you keep talking about dissipating heat, and get better calipers... Get better tires, tune your suspension, then get in your uber fast 2003 Fbody with gears and a filter and dust some termis... FAIL

5spd? does it even have a V8? Problems stopping? the V6 cars have the V8 brakes.......
