Nope, just CF for safety (no way to make this in plastic currently anyways) but you can paint CF. He is using an expensive clear gel coat to protect from UV but it also means you will be able to just scuff and paint if you want...

^^When I did mine (back in the day) I paid $300 for the tops, $75 to ship them, $150 for a new headliner, $80 to ship it, and a couple hundred on weather stripping, hardware, t-top holders, interior pieces, etc...

I was the first doing it (on the message boards at least, this was 1999) and I had to piece together the parts from rip off junkyards...

it will be a while before i do any of this but I am pretty good at fabricating new ideas on a budget. I build a hard top convertible corvette for about 5 grand, and plan on making my 96z a targa along with fully restoring it to a show and go car

How much does this weigh compared to the t-tops?

I'm sorry I'm a little confused. Would we have to literally turn our cars into a targa top to make this work? Like cut the middle piece off the car even if we already have T-Tops?

Guys sorry but I'm not going to re-answer questions in this thread that were answered in a bunch of others (including the one linked to in this thread).

You'll have to either read in the link or just wait a couple of weeks until I have finished product and pics, prices, details, etc...

If I remember correctly (Mark correct me if I'm wrong) you can cut off the middle piece of your T-Tops and turn this into a full targa top, but it's recommended you have subframe connectors first I believe.

Or I could be completely wrong.

^^Yes but you can also keep the center bar and just used this instead of t-tops (just need to unscrew the bracket on top of center bar...

I feel you. I looked into tempered glass but it was $50,000 for the mold. Then about $2000 each unless I bought in HUGE numbers...

I looked into thermal forming lexan, plastic, etc... Told it would all warp in the sun

$50,000? id rather buy a hardtop, ttop and vert for 40k, then spend the 10K left over modding them. then you could switch the tops whenever you want
