Steering wheel change?

Steering wheel change? I might be gettin a 99 Camaro SS and was wondering if I would be able to put the better lookin 00 + steering wheel on it? Would be be hard to replace? Thanks <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" />

Re: Steering wheel change? I hadn't realized that the Camaro Steering wheel changed in 2000. I thought all 98+ ones where the same. Just like the 98+ Firebird sterring wheels are all pretty much the same. Anyone have any pics of the 1999 and 2000 Camaro steering wheels?

Re: Steering wheel change? The steering wheels are different. The wheel in my 2000 SS is the exact same aas what is in my Lumina LTZ and my Mom's Monte Carlo Z34.
As for the swap, I would say a simple piece of cake, quick swap.
Now for the look, not too sure if it looks better. Below is a pic of the 2000 on up dash board.

First time I saw that steering wheel I pictured this elephant cartoon that they had on tv when I was a little kid. It looks pretty damn close...those witty gm engineers - always amaze me.
Stick with the older wheel, it looks less cluttered imo.

Re: Steering wheel change? I have done the swap a couple of times. You need a new wheel, air bag and coil. The coil is what allows the wires to spin with the wheel (like 90 bucks). Special tools needed are a steering wheel puller (10- 15 bucks) and a lock plate installer/remover (10-15 bucks).
