Default De-badging and taking the molding off?

I was thinking of taking to Trans Am badges and the side molding off. Does anybody have any tips or how exactly it comes off, is it just stuck on or are there going to be holes left?

no holes should be there as long as no prior bodywork was done. use a hairdryer to loosen up the adhesive and use goo gone to take it off the paint

i used a piece of fishing string wrapped around my hands to get the "trans am" badges off... be careful and don't pull on them too hard or they will snap... then i used my fingers to rub off as much of the adhesive as possible... when i was done with that i used wd40 and an applicator pad to get the rest of the sticky stuff off (goo gone works fine too just didn't have any laying around) and finished it off by cleaning and waxing the whole area... i left my side moldings on but the same steps should apply

Take side molding off = Take Trans Am Door Emblems off = Keep the door call outs on IMO. As stated though, fishing line and a hair dryer will work. The only thing about the emblems would be to change the color of them. Go with silver or black on your car.

I actually just grabbed the molding and ripped (figuratively) it off. I didn't heat it up, but it was a warm day out, so. Be prepared to rub a LOT of the adhesive off from the moldings.

As long as your car wasn't repainted or anything, it should look fine underneath. I'd leave the Trans Am badges on, maybe paint them like suggested above me. I have a red T/A and the black T/A badges look so much better than red

Looks a lot better without the molding on, often thought about doing that to the Z

It's easy to do them both and the hard part is getting the glue off but it just takes time.

Default paint color problem?

If I take off my side moldings, won't the paint under them be a different color? Does acetone harm the paint?

Unless the car was repainted you shouldn't see any color difference. Don't use acetone on paint. It is pretty much lacquer thinner. Use an adhesive remover.

I took the side moldings and TA off the side of mine. I had originally thought about leaving the TA on but it just looks plastered on so I removed it as well. A side benefit of this looking a lot better is the car is much easier to clean as well.

No door moulding or badges here as well. I think it gives it a cleaner look. No need to tell the world it's a transam.

yup i took of my side molding and it looks way more sleek and clean

just use a hairdryer and get it as hot as possible - then you can just peel off the molding by hand - i got the adhesive so hot that there was barely any residue to scrub off my door and it took me around 15min to do the entire car.
