Glaze is the same as Polish? (zero abrasive)

Plz forgive the n00bness. I'm just doing my homework

A real polish is abrassive, a real glaze is not. But many companies mis lable products and call a polish a glaze or a glaze a polish. But a true polish is abrassive and is used to fix small imperfections or after a compound and a true glaze is used to enhance shine and has no abrassives, or very little and little to no protection. True glazes are good to hide slight swirls instead of having to buff the car, but its only a temp fix. They are also good to get a really deep wet finish. Typically on a full detail to get a really good deep wet shine, you would use, in this order, compound (if needed), polish, glaze, wax or seal.

Thanks. I noticed Meguiar's has a TON of different pro products. Some have a number scale and red arrow for abrasion on the bottle, others have only a numerical number. Not sure what the number stands for. For example, Meguiars #7 Show Car Glaze.

I don't really use Meguiars products, so I can't tell you too much on that, but the pro system is supposedly pretty good. Since you don't have any experience I'd say stay away from the stuff thats really abrassive on the scale they show. The more abrassive the more you can screw up your paint if you don't know what your doing.

I was planning to use Meguiars Swirl X on my hood, and the Deep crystal system polish. Which order should I use these in tho?

1.Swirl X
2.Deep Crystal System Polish ?

Do I need to strip the wax from my hood with a clay bar or cleaner/polish before I use the Swirl X?

Right...

The Swirl X and Deep Crystal System Polish are in their consumer geared line of products so they don't show the abrasion scale. From what I'm reading they are pretty non-abrasive tho. I wanna try these products first.
