Default Billy Mays' "Fix It Pro" ?!

Haha Im not sure if this has come up yet but I got a damn big scratch on my car yesterday by some ahole.. (my father of course) and then I see this commercial.

Im sure people have seen this commercial, anyone have any thoughts on it? Or better yet, anyone take a chance a purchased it?

Ive never watched his new show "Pitchmen" but I saw an ad for it and apparently people bring in this stuff to him and demonstrate in front of them to decide if they want to sell it. So mebe it does work?

And obviously if its on TV it has to be true!!?

It must do something otherwise it would be false advertising. I've watched a few episodes of Pitchmen and everything they have on there works or they wouldn't want it..

Worth a shot for $19 bucks, if it doesn't work at least you get a nice cloth out of it..haha

I was always skeptical of his infomercials but ever since I watched all the pitchmen episodes that went away. Just like others said about how they chose the products, they work, not sure how well but they do work. So it's worth a shot IMO. I've always wanted to try that putty he's advertised, "mighty putty".

It will fill in the scratch a little bit, but you'll still see it. It jus wont be as noticeable.

if you have some nice heavy cut polish or compound laying around, its better than that stuff. But it all depends on how deep the scratch is, if you can catch your fingernail on it you will need a rotary to make a noticeable difference, or reclear.

haha ill be the ******* to vouch for that garbage. waste of money, definitely did not do anything for me...if you did half the things to your car that he did in the commericials youd be in for some deep ****....it has to be some kind of scam, i posted about it a while back. false advertising indeed. it does not do nearly anything it says or shows it should

Alright im done. I have to say this thing is not what they advertise it to be. The truck i used it on has no swirls. It has a deep scratch i used it on, and a moderate scratch. It did no better than anything else ive seen before. Id have to say that this would probably do okay if best on swirls but at the same rate the pad is 1 inch in diamiter. So unless you plan on spending a whole week buffing your car dont buy it. I dont even think the little motor in that buffer would last long enough to do your front end. So nothing new here. If its not deep, then get a PC 7424. If it is deep, then get a new paint job.

The results here are no better than what you can do with some regular wax by hand.

Deep Scratch Before:

Deep Scratch After:

Moderate Scratch Before:

Moderate Scratch After: (Note the scratch is still visible if you look at it from an angle, or get up close. Im sure direct sunlight would also highlight its presence. Like i said earlier. The results are no better than what you can do by hand with regular wax.)

Correct, throw it on TV.. play a few tricks with the camera and screen and make it look like you want. Then anyone who sees it and dosent know any better will buy it.

"Im billy mays, and I use it on my car so you should too"

"**** hes rich, and it works and he uses it. we better buy 2"

Thats whats cool about that show pitchmen. they actually show them using upcomming products on live TV.

Removing a scratch can be very easy.

Simple wet sanding, touch up paint and proper brush for the width of the mark.. drying and more sanding followed by some good polishing with a buffer/rotary and your scratch is gone and the car looks great.

There was a nice thread here somewhere Ive followed the same process to fix many scratches.
