Question Hood Shocks for Lightweight Hoods

Who makes Reduced strength hood stocks for fiberglass /carbon fiber hoods that dont strain the hood?

The stock struts or w/e are for a much heavier steel hood and Id think if I had kept them itd put unwanted stress on my carbon fiber hood possibly cracking it if I wasn't careful. So where can I find the appropriate ratio shocks for a 22lb hood?

Please chime in the stick in the trunk is getting old,

Thanks guys!!

http://www.vfnfiberglass.com/site.htm

Go to parts catalog and scroll down to 93-02 camaro under chevy. About 1/4 way down the page they have lighter hood struts for $40 a set. This may sound stupid, but how exactly do you buy from VFN? Do you email them what you want or what, it's not an easy couple clicks to buy like other sites.

I haven't got mine for my FFI custom hood, I'm hoping a can wait a bit b/c I have other things to pay for and money is tight....mostly since I bought the hood. Anyone else chime in on this about stock struts possibly causing damage as stated above?
