Angry Dang bird poop!

So yesterday I get back home after running some errands and notice a big ole splat of dark bird poop right above my driver's side headlight on the hood of my WS6. I knew the bird just bombed me so I grabbed a wet rag and wiped it off.

The spot was completely void of shine so I grabbed some Mother's cleaner/wax and started rubbing. The shine started to come back but I could see where that bird poop had kinda "wrinkled" the clear coat . I continued to rub the spot until it was pretty hard to see but its still there in the clear coat. That poop probably wasn't on my car more than an hour or two and it was like acid .

Anyway, I just wanted to rant a little and remind everyone to wash bird poop off immediately!!!!! Dang sea birds!

Take out your anger on his brothers and sisters with a 12 gauge and some birdshot.

Its funny that you mention it. At first, I couldn't find my bottle of wax but I did see my clay bar kit. I whipped it out and sprayed the liquid on and wiped the spot with the bar. Nothing! Didn't do a thing .

The cleaner/wax did a pretty good job. I looked at it again today and its pretty hard to see but I know that its there. I hate those sea birds!

Yeah, I've been hit many times with the standard white bird crap. I wipe it off as soon as I can and I've never had any damage. I'm not sure what kind of bird got me yesterday but it was some very dark, caustic stuff. Maybe it was a big crane or something. My wife's minivan was victimized by the same type of bird about 5 yrs ago when it was pretty much brand spankin' new. Left big marks in her clear coat that remained quite visible .

If you're working by hand, try Meguiar's Ultimate Compound if you can find it or ScratchX 2.0. Follow up with a wax or sealant.
