Some of you may have seen the initial pics of my project for a hand crafted cold air intake in the drag racing section. It's coming together quite well.
Got the front fascia back from the paint shop today, after a week or so of me and my dad making the templates, and fabbing the intake with fibeglass by hand.
doesn't look so ominous here.
<img src="http://xs-fx.com/pain/formula_pics/new1.jpg" alt=" - " />
pop off the hood and "holy super shlongs batman!"... "Avert your eyes young Robin!"
<img src="http://xs-fx.com/pain/formula_pics/new2.jpg" alt=" - " />
<img src="http://xs-fx.com/pain/formula_pics/new3.jpg" alt=" - " />
<img src="http://xs-fx.com/pain/formula_pics/new4.jpg" alt=" - " />
Oh my...
<img src="http://xs-fx.com/pain/formula_pics/new5.jpg" alt=" - " />
<img src="http://xs-fx.com/pain/formula_pics/new6.jpg" alt=" - " />
Uses stock size filter, any kind of aftermarket lid, The tubing is mandrel bent aluminum...and weighs a total of ounces.
Next up is getting the fabbed pipe welded, coated, a little wiring, and custom grille.

Are you going to make a billet grille to cover the opening or what?

You need to get some of those jet aircraft stickers that say Danger Stand Clear so as not to be liable for small children sucked into the opening. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Thanks Steve!
Once I get the tube welded up, and a final fitment on it, I was gonna have it powder coated.
Polished would be nice though <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

You made me look at your hosepipe!!!!!!
Looks very interesting!
If I had the time I would go over to VFN and have them make me a custom hood with a 93-97 style ram air inlet in a 4" variety.

I want to see this in person. It looks very cool. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" />
I can't wait to see the track testing. Did you do your hood yourself? Iam thinking about a pin on hood. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_tounge.gif" />
Later,
Coach
