Right now im in the process of polishing my 01 WS6 rims after talking about it for a while.. but im glad i decided to do it! All i did was strip the clear coat and they came ten times shinier!! i still polished them.. but they didn't really get much better then they already are with no clear coat.. i was suprised how much the coating dulls the shine!.... I'm gona take lotsa pic's so if your interested in seeing them shine e mail me.. cuz i don't have a site to post em here

 

Cool to hear, I bet if you keep working at then with metal polish they will shine up even more. Just remember without the clear, you will have to keep on them.

Once that Clearcoat is gone you have to ALWAYS maintain them. Glad you got them shiny. Do my 1998 17" high-polished aluminum rims have clear coat too?

I went to a place today to inquire about them being polished again. They said they would have to strip the clear coat off. How much extra maintenance will I have to give them with no clear coat and a fresh polish. I wash my car about twice a week. But will I need to keep polishing them?

Well quickin if u keep them clean then ya they won't go dull as fast.. but u no what ppl B*T^h about having to get them polished every year.. but i do that my self with a grinder.. but thats my job at work soo thats differnt. But all u gota do is buy some good aluminum polish and after a wash maybe twice a month MAX polish them.. just with hand polish.. then u don't gota pya the big bux to get them done every year.. but ya whenever they look like there gettin dull just hand polish them. i think its worth it! they look way better without the clear coat. I'll have some pics posted soon.. just gota devolop the film! and i'll get soem pics with them on my car <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
