Biochem,

I was referring to how the diamter of the rim + tire will in other words "FILL" out the fender wells giving the illussion that the car is sitting on top of the wheels closer and thus a lower look despite how low the car actually is to the road.

How's the ride on cut springs?

What I'm saying is that if you have a 275/65 R17 it will be huge compared to a 275/40 R17. But a 275/40 R17 will be about the same overall diameter (tire + rim) as a 275/55 R16 or a 275/65 R15... So a 275/40 R17 rim/tire combo will not "fill" the tire well any more/less than a 275/65 R15 rim/tire combo.

The ride on cut springs is a little rougher than on stock, but no different than on aftermarket (lowered) springs.

I've noticed no ride difference to speak of, but its not like I cut that much off of the springs.

Biochem,

Thanks your explanation makes perfect sense. I was thrown off by the 15in racing wheels and didn't factor that the tire height was making up the difference. SO basically his Wheels and Tires make up the overall diameter of what would you say a 17in with 275/40's? or a stock 16in Rim?

Also any harshness in the ride quality might be absorbed by the larger tires he has. vs a lower profile tire..

On the front you cut the side that is not taper'd. This applies for the front only. The amount we lowered the rear was very minimal (only removed the rubber spacer).

No, I dont think it hurt my launch any. I went a 1.46 sixty foot with this spring set up <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

This may be a dumb question but:

Do you cut the coil on the bottom or on the top? I haven't had mine apart yet to see how thy look.

thanks,
