So i am washing my car today and everythings ok till i get to the front of my car. There is this white paint lookin stuff on it. So proceed to srcub to no avail. Its on the facia, hood,winshield and the top of the car too. Well it comes off the winsheild w/ a razor blad and off of the hood and the top w/ a clay bar and A LOT of elbow greese. But the front facia is not happening. It wont come off w/ the clay bar or even my fingernail. should i try to use some wax and rub that crap till it comes off or what? I wanted to see my options before i did that b/c it might mess up the paint. Any ideas??

It sounds like you got hit with some paint or something. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" />

Surprised that a clay bar would budge it, You gould try a PLASTIC razor blade or say the edge of a credit card to gently scrape the residue of, and then polish out the marks that may be left behind.

Another possiblity could be to use Goof Off, but I am not too sure about that.

 

You don't say how thick or large these blotches are, but try some Turtle Wax or another brand of "clearcoat safe" Polishing Compound. It has a very fine abrasive in it that might slowly remove your spot. I wouldn't scrape anything. Good Luck!

 

They are really small. looks like its paint, sucks <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" /> Ill try some wax and see, and the credit card thing first thanks
