Default GM SUX!!!!!

Who else has a car that was damaged in frieght?.. or maybe yours is and you don't no about it!?
Well mine was and had a shi*y job of covering it up! the drivers door was dinged or somethin and they repainted it and got over spray on both before the door on the quarter panel and behind the door on the read panel! its like a dull clear coat.. in the sun u can see that the whole door above the side molding is a more faded black then the rest of the car.. also when u open the door its on the end of the door where u can see they tryed to mask off and its bunched up and cracking.. on the actualy car where the door shuts theres a line down the out side of where they once again tried to mask it off but did a S$%T job! this is reallyt bugging me and would it be coverd on warrenty? the body work is also off center.. the door rubs at the front top corner on the quater panel and the door handle rubs the door whenever its opened.. the paint is whereing off in these places...o ya and i noticed that the clear coat on the door is peeling off now to! what should i do? is there a way i can check to see if the car was dinged on shipping?? will GM cover it on warrenty?? and GM is also screwing me around because i sent in my application for the warrenty card and havent received it after 2 months! is this right??

Almost the same exact thing happened to me when I bought my Z28... In fact it was the driver's door too. It was covered under warranty, but the dealership I ordered it from has a horrible paintshop, so I ended up getting a quote from a more reputable paint shop and let them fix what the GM shop couldn't fix. So they ended up paying for it twice. But it is under warranty, just make sure you get a good shop to do the work, not just buff it out. Good luck.

I HATE when those kinds of things happen to me(and other people also)!!!!

I had a small fender bender and we took it to the body shop and it took them a month and a half to fix it the first time and then when I got it back it had a different rim on it and a LONG scratch down the passanger side door and the front, left headlight had some sh!tty paint work(lots of runs). So it went back in the body shop for another month and a half!

If I didn't have bad luck I wouldn't have any at all.

Yeah same thing with me...My car had a few scatches on it....Told my dealer while I was signing the papers that it had scratches and he said to bring it back when I want and they will take it out....Took it back and they buffed it out, all gone....was this the right thing to do?

Is your car brand new??? If it is and the dealership did not tell you that the car was repaired, at the time of sale they have broken the law, well atleast hear in the U.S. it is. With what you are saying the car was damaged more that just "dinged"

actually they are sometimes repaired from lot damage prior to shipping also.
this is done at the plant but usually a better job than you explained.

and each state here is different but in connecticut the damage must be over $400 before it has to be made note of although most reputable dealers will make darn sure it is noted in paper work to avoid just this type of issue.

good luck i hope you get it fixed to your liking as it should be

Did you buy the car new?
If so you have 12months 12kmiles to report cosmetic DEFECTS for GM to cover it. I work @ a GM dealership. I say defects because if it is damage they may not help you. They will tell you that you should have looked it over before delivery. I work in parts now but used to sell Pontiac's and GMC's and you would not believe how many people bring cars back and lie and say "o it was there" when 9 out of 10 time it wasn't there when they bought it. So lieing cheap people screw it up for everyone. Just be nice and pationt with the dealer and try to work it out. And if that doesn't work calling GM and b*tching and b*tching does get stuff done.

The guy you bought it from is probably lieing about never haveing any damage. Go to a local GM dealer or anyone you can find that can run a "Car Fax" That could tell you if it was ever in a wreck. But if it was not ever reported to an insurance co. or had a police report on it it might show up clean. As for the warr. card thing. The guy might have hosed ya. When you sell or trade a car and still have a extended warr. you can cancel it and get money back. If it is still under the 36/36 factory warr. you don't need a card. But I have heard of guys selling cars to people and saying it has a extened warr. and it doesn't because they canceled it and got the cash. Try to contact the co. who he had the warr. with and see whats up.

Any Pontiac dealership should be able to help, although may have better luck with the dealership you bought it from.
