I added a button to the line that provides power to the antenna motor. Turn it off, antenna stays down. Turn it on and it acts just like stock. It's been a long time since I did it, so I don't recall which wire it was, but it should be something that google can find.

Going off memory and a couple minutes research online...

I went to Radio shack and bought a push button switch. You could just as easily use a toggle. Fiind your wires under the center console. The PINK wire is the trigger for the power antenna. Clip it, splice in your button, and mount the button. I drilled a little hole in the side of my center console, down by my knee and mounted it there. Done.

this looks better

I hate antennas. I took it off the Z28 first day I bought it, and I even hate the stump that is left behind, can't wait to shave it.

The second shows the rubber washers I got to act as a spacer between the antenna and antenna base (as recommended) The 3/8 washer with a 5/8 OD fits perfectly with no modifications.

Thanks for teh mention...that does look good.....

Liek he said for you folks that are gonna cut your antenna...remember to pop off the ball you can re-set it after you cut your OEM and DO cut it a multiple of your antenna orginal lenght..you get better reception that way

I run a CUT down OEM when ever someone steals my BVModded antenna or I sell it off my car...
