Default gum on seatbelt, need help

Apparently, my better half has been letting my son chew gum in her Exploder again. Well this is why he won't in my truck. There is gum all over the seatbelt. I need some ideas on how to get it off. I know, I know, it may help hold it together better, but i want it off.

Sounds dumb but I heard peanut butter. At least if it doesn't work, you have cheap air freshener!

Other thoughts Goo Gone, Goof Off, or Brake Cleaner (Naptha = dry cleaning solution)

Found this at "Ask Jeaves":

Chewing Gum
Scrape away as much as possible first. Rubbing the stain with ice will harden the gum and make this easier, especially on rugs and other heavy materials. Refer further under Candle Wax

If the material is washable, soak in kerosene and wash in hot soapy water. For unwashable articles, use dry cleaning fluid. Several applications may be necessary.

Don't use any chemicals solvents or peanut butter on the belt. It may stain.

Try using an icecube to freeze the gum, then pick it off bit by bit. You may have to apply the ice several times before you get it all off. Good luck.

Be sure to let us know what worked.
