Default Custom Carbon Fiber Price, Is This Reasonable?

I talked to a company today and they said measure the length x width of the part and they multiply the area by .98 cents to determine the price.

Example: The lower seat plastic where the seat controls are. 8 inches by 19 inches = $148.96

If there are huge holes the price would be lowered.

Does this sound reasonable?

Thanks for your input,

Todd

Is this to:

A. Cover the part in a CF "looking" material( like my engine parts)

B. Cover the OEM part with REAL CF (like my dash)

C. Build the part from scratch? (make a mold, etc)

Let me know <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

That would be B <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

And thats the same as my interior kit.. the interior kit consists of Center Consol, radio bezel, side vents, outer speedo guage bezel and door control bezels.. all for $700..

Using your pricing that would cost quite a bit more to do all of that.. BUT that was done in bulk for RK Sport so custom stuff would be more expensive.. If they do good work then thats a pretty fair price..

SoCal Images charged about $.45 a square inch for the fake CF stuff..

Oh, do they clear it afterwards?? Remember all this process does add thickness to the part so some fidgeting may be required to get the part back on <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Email who they are.. finding a place to do this sort of work is tough..

Hope this helps..

Thanks again for your help.

The person I talked to was just doing a 02 Z28, his daughters. Hope he learns any mistakes that can happen on her car, LOL. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

I am hoping they cut me slack on the price with parts that have large openings.

I admit, I bought the stick on kit and was very disappointed with the looks. The parts need to be completely wrapped. I just ordered all new interior parts and am sending them to this company. I am throwing out the old ones.

No more short cuts!! This was a $500 mistake. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Embarrassed]" src="gr_emb.gif" />
That money could of been put towards the real thing. Live and learn, we all made a few of these mistakes.

Just can not let them happen all of the time.

Thanks again,

Todd
