Default Question for Steve or Todd????

Where are you guys getting all the chrome pieces in your engine?

Like the pieces that hold onto the hood, the pieces that are in front of the air box basically all the pieces that are connecting to the frame!! With the bolts that have the red washers on them!!

Where can i get these pieces? Or are you guys just getting them chromed?

Im sure this is the same for Todd also..

You just pull off the brackets and such you want chromed and send them to a chrome shop.. most of the parts you can drive without but some (like hood hinges and hood latches) cause "car down time".. Not super expensive but you do get what you pay for.. the hinges are the most $$$ to do since they have the most hand work required..

I got my colored washers at Hillco Fasteners in Garden Grove, CA.. here is also a website that sells them..

http://www.southcoaststainless.com/accentwashers.htm

Hope this helps..

Just a heads up on http://www.southcoaststainless.com/accentwashers.htm I emailed them about the washers and they said they had discontinued them. He said they still had a few but they didn't have what I needed so the search continues......

Opt 1. Very nice all areas shine pretty much like a mirror. (Really is good quality)

Opt 2. They will never stop until the chrome is perfect everywhere. You are basically handing them a blank check.

I paid $685.00. I still am in the process of getting my metal pieces behind the lights done, that is not included in the price above <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" />

The person did a perfect job on the my hinges, like Steve said that is the toughest part to get chromed properly. Getting the chrome in the curved portion is challenging.

I still have to get my bolts polished. MBA high polished parts help also for good looks. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Yep, what Todd said.. its one area where you get what you pay for <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

A couple pieces of mine need to be re-done as they are not up to my standards..
