If you take the cover off can you get the airbag out? I am needing to remove one from a parts car but dont want to pull the entire dash to do it.

No you cant . If the bag was never popped, if you pull off the foam cover, the plastic portion is still "apart" of the dash . There are just relief cuts so it breaks right when the bag is popped . Given the locations of the screws that hold the pass. airbag in, the dash has to come out ~or unbolted enough to get sufficient clearence to the screws and to pull it out .

Its tedius, but its not that hard. The most difficult thing IMO is re-installing and getting all the thick wire harnesses back in the place their supposed to be.
