Well, I drove it today. I can't get a really accurate reading because the new slave cylinder I bought is screwed up and ticking like a madman. But first impressions it is a TON quieter. You can barely hear the car at idle, and at WOT you can still hear it but less pronounced. I also have a Walbro 255lph pump in the car which I used to be able to hear ALL the time, but I can't even hear a hint of it anymore. But you sure can hear that damn clicking from the slave.
I'm amazed at how much could go wrong with one project.

I've been through the Hydros on LT1s SEVERAL times and could help, but haven't done anything with LS1, the set ups are alittle different. Even an idle reading would be great, or cruising in the road in gear. I think I'm going to do this mod regardless, just trying to decide if I should spray and add more under the carpet or just spray?

I'll try and get some today on the way home from work. I brought my dB meter with me, but I was having too much fun cruising around on my lunch hour to think of it.

OK, got an at-idle measurement last night. Before the Al's it was 83db. After the liner it is 78db.
It is quite noticable, my wife and I could carry on a conversation last night sitting at a stop light. I'm very happy with this.
I haven't got a peak measurement yet, but for some reason the car itself sounds louder after the 6-spd swap. We had the tops down and I was thinking it sounded loud, but then my wife asked me if I had changed the exhaust because it sounded a lot louder.
Don't know, maybe I broke something else.![Icon Lol](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies2/icon_lol.gif)
This weekend I'll take it out with the windows and tops up and take a peak measurement for you guys.

5db drop is HUGE!
Wow. that is amazing.
I'm happy that there is numerical data with this thread as the credibility goes through the roof vs "its a LOT quieter" which is very subjective.
two thumbs up.

Didn't know there was a difference. Hope it doesn't make a big difference when I do my dash swap next week.

No updates yet, I sent off my computer to be retuned for the 6-spd. Once I get it back I'll get a driving reading.
The only difference in the LT1 and LS1 pedals, other than the return spring, is where the master cylinder rod connects to the pedal. Dash won't be affected.

I'm guessing from the pics that you didnt do anything to the doors.
Engine probably sounds a bit louder because its not being drowned out by the road noise.
Looks like a worthwhile mod...
