Default MY NEW TIRE/WHEEL SETUP, PLZ RESPOND

OK, after getting off the phone with a bunch of idiots from various wheel/tire shops, I have made a huge decision. Tell me what u think, cuz I don't want my car to look odd cuz the front are rear tires are of different sizes. Here we go, up front, 17X8 wheels sitting in a 245 nitto drag radial. In rear, 17X10 sitting in a 315 nitto drag radial, what do u think?????

Will this look ok?

Mike

Here are my current mods:

SLP 2000 Camaro SS: MTI clear lid ram air, K&N air filter and cleaner, SLP 3" loudmouth exhaust with optional 3 1/2 chrome tips, Mobil-1 synthetic oil, GTS Smoke "blackout" covers (front only) billet antenna, CAMARO decals (rear) custom SS sticker under ram air hood, custom SS mats (designed by myself!), stut tower brace by BMR, limo tints all the way around, custom signature stickers of my name on interior doors, custom made SS sticker (center console), "armor" protective optional paint from factory...........more to come.

I see no problem with it, may have to do a little bangin to make the 315 fit, not sure. Sounds like a good setup though.

There are two problems I see with this setup.
You shouldn't put a drag radial on the front rims....if you want to run the Nittos, use the 555s on the front instead.
If you want to run 315s DRs, you should really fit them on an 11" rim because otherwise, you aren't getting the full contact patch on the ground. I wouldn't go wider than a 295 on a 10" rim.

But as a show/straight line car, you're welcome to put the little wheels up front. Personally, I would at least put a 17x9 or 9.5 with a 275 tire up front rather than downsizing from the factory (ss) sizes.

A drag radial will function as 'normal' tire when inflated to the proper pressure, and running them front and back would 'balance' the handling, assuming you run the same sizes all round. Otherwise, I'll assume you're just matching them for looks.

If you want a car that actually handles put the same width rims on front and back, and put nitto drag radials on the back AND the front (unlike what some people on here seem to be telling you (its very obvious they haven't tried it, nor have they been to many AutoX's)). If you want an unbalanced mess, do the 8" up front with 555's and 10" on back with 555R's. It'll handle like a sled, but it'll be good for straight line racing I guess.

If you want a car that just looks cool, I got no idea.
