Default Another headlight problem

But this is a little different. The passenger side headlight doesnt want to pop up. The driver side is perfect. However, if it turn the manual **** just alittle, then turn on the headlights, then it pops up fine. Close it, open it, it works perfectly. Come the next day, turn them on, it won't go up. The motor must be working because it does pop up. What do you guys think?

What happens when it doesnt work and you just tap the motor with a wrench? (without turning the manual ****)

I looked in a different site, in that thread that points to the peg. I'm gonna try to make it larger.

the headlight door shaft (thing that lifts up the headlight door when the motor turns) nut might be too tight. i overtightened mine once and this is exactly what it did. the headlight would work fine and then later it would do nothing. no grinding or anything, and if i turned the **** slightly it would work fine after that for a few cycles and then wouldn't work again. try loosening the nut slightly. for an LT1 headlight motor it's the nut in the very middle that attaches to the silver piece in the center with the odd shaped key hole that the shaft goes through. not sure on the LS1 style.

In this pic you can see the nut i'm referring to, its the one that goes on the center silver colored bolt that is attached to the motor itself, not one of the 3 nut/bolt combos that are on the outside.
