REPLACING TAIL LAMPS WITH LEDs
I found an LED that can be modified to replace any #3157 bulb, such as the ones used for all late model F bodies, pickups, and SUVs. Click on the link below to see how I modified it to work.

It works fine for the stop/tail lamp. If an LED is used for turn signals, a different flasher is required since LEDs use much less current and the flasher acts as if a bulb is burned out, flashing twice as fast.

Re: REPLACING TAIL LAMPS WITH LEDs
LEDs, or light emitting diodes provide an "instant on and instant off" look. Since they are solid state devices, they are not affected by vibration and last forever. The late model Caddys have them for tailights. I have noticed that railroad crossing lights are being converted to LEDs and all new semi trucks and trailers are equipped with LED lighting.
The difference is very noticable when an older semi truck with regular lights is connected to a new trailer using LEDs and uses it's turn signal.
