Default painting some plastic trim what paint to use.

I'm painting a lot of plastic trimming on my impala in the engine bay. And I'm using the dupli trim paint. It work good but its too dull for my taste. Can I just throw some clear on it? Or is there apaint that's a bit brighter.

wet sand it, make sure you clean it real well, then put 3 or so coats of clear on.. you can wet sand the clear as well with 2000 grit, then buff the clear with some cutting compound, then polish.. I just did my clear corners, front and rear with VHT turned out awesome, can't even tell they are painted.

The trim paint is very good but definitely has a semi-gloss sheen. If you didn't sand and primer to get a perfectly smooth finish before painting you may want to start over if your planning on wetsanding the clear otherwise I would just spray a couple coats of Duplicolor Engine Clear on top of what you got. I've found it to give more gloss than regular clear and will hold up better with the temps under the hood.
