Default Sail imperfections

So do most camaros have small imperfections in the sail area behind the front doors? I think I'm calling that part correctly. Otherwise known as the b-pillar. I'm talking about what looks like factory welds popping through the black paint. You can only see them in the right sunlight at the right angle. There is a blotch near the bottom and then all the way along rear window and t-tops.
Thanks from the curious new guy.

Fbodys are known for bad sail panels.

Welcome. The problem you are describing is covered in all the boards. It is common in all F bodys 98-02 and caused from bad adhesive used on the roof panels. It can be seen on all 4th gen f bodys.

Can you just repaint the sail/roof to fix this or is there more to it?

Read that link he put in here, it's 59 pages long so the topic has been beat.
I'm actually sorry I didn't find that on my own without bringing it back up.

And to sum up that huge, depressing thread in a nut shell...

Can you just repaint the sail/roof to fix this or is there more to it?
No, the glue will continue to "eat" your sail panel, no matter what you do to it. The sail panel must be removed (very ugly, but not impossible job),, here is a great DIY thread,,,

One of the many joys of F-body ownership.

They'll replace it if your car has less than 100,000 miles.

Could we see some pictures of the Sail Imperfections?

Also, how can you tell if the Sail Panel has been replaced (not the first owner)? I think mine has, not too sure, the paint looks different than other panels, meaning it looks like it's never been wet-sanded and looks like it has "orange-peel."

I can tell you first hand, thay absolutely will not fix this car.
I spent 8 months on the phone. I went to 4 different dealers, saw district representatives. Went through many customer service poeple, from at least three different states, as they either quit their job, or were removed from my case. I was blatantly lied to, many many many many times. I was finally told they would pay for one half the cost. They kept calling me to see if it was in the shop yet. When it was ready to be retrived, they backed out on the deal.
They even called the body shop, and told the manager they were paying for half. Until it was ready to be picked up.
In the end I paid more than $900.00 to have this fixed myself. At least I can say I wasted at least $400.00 of their time over the 8 month saga.
Hence I went 100 miles away from my house to buy a 2010 Camaro, and the dealers that screwed me over were not even considered for the sale. That goes for future sales as well.
Frank Shoop, Thoroughbred Chevrolet, and a few others. One of then tried to tell me "with a straight face" that gravity was acting in reverse on my car causing upward paint drips. and even though everyone of them knew about the problem, they were trained very well not to admit it. When I produced the TSB, they finally did admit it. My car currently has 28,000 miles on it, it is 2009.
I bought the 8 year bumper to bumper warranty on the Camaro, anyone care to know why? If so re-read this.
