Default Seat Foam

Does anyone know where you can get new seat cushions for our cars. My drivers seat bottom cushion has seen better days. The cover is still in pretty good condition but the cushion on the bottom is torn. I can tell just the way it feels.

I've been trying to find one for my TA. I got a hold of the top one from GM but they told me that the bottom cushion is not made anymore. I am currently seeking a used pass. side coushion as thats the closest thing to new I will find. Your second option is to use your pass. side one, your third option witch seems to be what im gonna do would be to have it "rebuilt". An interior shop can add foam to it and make it new again!

from what I understand, the foam is part of the bottom of the seat....not seperate like in older cars. I had a upholstery shop quote me $600 to rebuild both and recover.

$600 ouch. I have heard its not cheap to get seats recovered. You can go out and pretty much by aftermarket seats for that price.

The foam he sells is new.

Also, you can prevent the foam from tearing like that. Its a design flaw by GM... Its a 10 minute fix...

A guy used to sell new front seat foam... that link is for a rear foam...

When reuphostering mine, I simply stretched and adhered denim to the underside of the foam between the foam and the wires... keeps the wire from cutting the foam...

Once the seat is out, it probably takes a whole 10 minutes...

If you're trying to do it in the car, we've used a peice of thin abs plastic and slide it between the foam and wire... same principal, but a little ghetto...
