Brake Calipers... 2 questions:
Ive read that its obviously important to clean up (degreaser, simple green, etc.) the calipers before painting them but what if you notice something like, i dont know, the previous owners of your car made a pathetic attempt to spray paint the calipers half assed in just one little small area of each caliper and the paint ran a little bit (i just noticed this today).. anyway would completely painting them do a good job of covering up a previous attempt/vandal? or should i try and sand the painted/runny area a little bit prior to cleaning and painting?
What type of clear coat would you recommend after calipers were painted?
Also, for those of you with black cars, what color have you used that contrasts well? I know its personal preference but im torn between gloss red or gloss black. Thanks

Re: Brake Calipers... If I were you, I'd sand those runs out, cuz I think they would show pretty bad. As for clear's go, I'd use that duplicolor engine clear. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> I've used it plenty of times and it looks good, even on polished surfaces. Re: Brake Calipers... Thanks alot guys, I think I will pick up some sandpaper when I get the dupli-color (which supringly enough was difficult to locate around here) I am leaning toward black and I will be ordering the trans am decals from afterthoughts suto as well, thanks again
