Default Newbie question.. RS package..

alright well I recently bought my first Camaro. It's a 99' Z28 Camaro with the RS package. Just got rid of the ground effects today, and was hoping to get a SS spoiler this weekend. What exactly will I need to remove to make the conversion?

Lift up the hatch. Look up and remove the plastic piece to access the spoiler bolts. Very easy upgrade. The hard part is finding a spoiler that fits. There are a couple OEM ones for sale on here.

just the plastic under the hatch
4 bolts
and you will need an SS wing, and bolts, not nuts to attach SS wing

like the others have said,,, but the rs has a different spoiler than the non rs/z28. the spoiler is actually 3 pieces and the 2 outside pieces attach in the rear quarter panels. Far as I know they are bolted to the quarters, might want to be something you consider before ripping it off. lol

The side pieces on your 3 piece sports appearance spoiler like said about I believe have bolts that are holding them on.. So you will have to fill in the holes, which there are holes from when you removed the ground effects that will prolly need filled as well..

I like the look of the RS spoiler. For the trouble it would take to change it, I would just keep it.

You will need body work to fill the holes and repaint the area.

I don't like the look of it at all. :/ but is going to be some trouble changing it. anybody know how much they would charge me to get the holes filled in from the GFX I just took off? it looks horrible right now.

Sorry, forgot it was the three piece spoiler While they are filling the GFX holes, a few more shouldn't be too much. I have no idea what that would cost.

Here here! I have seen very few Z28s, at least in this area of the country, with the full kit. Makes the ride unique at any rate. But, to each his own, for I have a biased opinion and absolutely love my RS package! Unfortunately missing the spoiler at this time due to removal of the whale tail.

I actually sold the GFX on Craigslist for 400 already. Now time to get rid of my 3 piece RS spoiler.
