got tint? hey, what percent tint do you guys have on your windows? ever get a fine for your tint. and what was the price you paid for it. im thinking about tinting my windows but dont want to get a sh*ty deal. thanks

Im interested in these questions too... this guy i know that has a detailing business has a guy that does tint for his customers, he charges $135 - $150 (depending on the type of car) and im pretty sure he said he would take it off and reapply for free come inspection time so long as he knows you got it from him.
I want to add some tint soon but am not sure what percentage to go with, from what I heard its totally illegal in my state but noone really takes it seriously. I would like to get the sides and back done so looking in everything looks like a sillhouette and maybe just a little on the front to even things out.

Re: got tint? Do you have any pics of your car with the 8%? Maybe even a before and after so we can all compare. I would also like to tint my windows, to complete my black car, black interior, blackened windows appearence. A.K.A. the batmobile <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Re: got tint? I got 8% all the way around (limo), mine cost almost $200, especially cuz the back window on the f-body is a bi$ch, just go with the best guy u can, get a warranty on them. It is a matter of luck, many many guys get brand new tint jobs and there back window "bubbles," I.....got lucky

Re: got tint? I have 5% on my car..... its only on the sides. I had the sides and back done 15% and it costed me 180 and I didn't like it and I had the sides done in 5% for 20 a peice.(I got the HOOK UP) and this wasn't some non experience job..... this guys has years of experience and owns hiw own company.
I haven't had any problems with the cops and the law here in MS is 35%

Re: got tint? i got 20 percent all around for 100 dollars great job too they reason i got it for that price cuz me and my friend got ours done at the same time...
i'm sure they will cut you a deal if you got two cars done at the same time. good luck

Re: got tint? I have 5% on the sides and rear. In cali its illegal to tint the sides to anything, so i said what the heck and went all the way, it looks, and happy about it b/c it looks really cool. It cost around $160 for it all, but the place made me pay for the side tints in cash b/c it was so illegal, heh.

I want to compare and see if there is a huge difference.

Whenever people say to me they are getting 35% I tell them to not even bother, save your money....Highest % you should go is 20%, and it looks sweet, i've had it on my GF mustang, my brothers accord, and my explorer and.....Knock on wood none of us have been bothered except for the time my brother got locked up, but thats a different story that happen to start out with tints.....Oh yeah my GF got pulled over once and the cop asked her about the tints, luckily it was very sunny out so they didn't seem as dark.....

I haven't been pulled over in 4 years of having htem tinted. The car is black so 5% is the only way to go. A lighter colored car can get away with a lighter tint. It is illegal to tint the sides here in FL as well but everyone does it anyway.

$100 (I think) for rear one piece, $100 for windshield one piece, $40 for each side window.
Here in IL it's illegal in the front, but I carry a doctor's note at all times..
