Default HIDs with tinted lights?

Ive been using tinted light covers and i cant see at night so i just took them off. Right now i just have the stock lights but im going to upgrade to 4000k HIDs soon, and i want to tint my lenses. So someone with blacked lenses and HIDs please tell me how visibility is at night?

If you want to see better at night, don't use tinted lenses.

Thanks for your imput. Not what i asked though. I want to know if tinted lenses with HIDs are acceptable to drive at night. Im not asking how to get the best night visibility.

I've seen that before on a ricer, not sure how dark the tint was though. Probably a lighter percentage.
If you want an idea of what it looks like get a pair of black lensed sunglasses and shine a LED flashlight through, thats about what you'll end up with.
Since light will only be coming in from one direction I think a lighter tint would be acceptable without losing too much light output.

So, you think ittle look riced? I just want the lights to match the rears. That sounds like a good idea though, the light tint.

I'm assuming you have an LS1 camaro. I think the headlight glass will get pretty hot with the bulbs you want to use, and the tint might get deformed, and end up being a mess.
Now I have seen people lightly VHT their headlights before. Thats gonna be your best option here.
The reason I'm saying a lighter tint would be better is that you can retain a major part of you light output and if you have ever seen a fully tinted(windshield)car you CANNOT see any light at all unless its internal.
If I were you I'd go with a few light coats of VHT and wetsand like you would do for tail lights.

I think 4500K HID's are actually not as hot as halogen bulbs, but that brings up a good point that i need to research before i just assume. Thanks for bringing it up
