Very functional, if you buy their airbox with it. Friend of mine has it.

Those airboxes work okay, but don't offer any more performance than your basic lid. Most guys just buy the hood to save some cash.

I've got the Raptor hood with the functional ram air intake, you can check my signature for pics and whatnot. As for the functionality (functionalness, that can't be a word, LoL) of the intake, for what it's worth, I was dynoing here recently, and thought I'd see if it made a difference, so I pulled the whole deal and let the engine get a straight shot of air. I gained only 1 RWHP and lost something like 4 RWTQ by doing so. I used to have a Direct Flo and I didn't notice any difference between the two. Seems like the Direct Flo had a little better torque down low but the ram air intake pulled harder up top. Might just be my imagination though. The reason I keep it on is because I don't have to worry near as much about hydrolocking the motor. I've heard a very few, rare horror stories about people with the FRA or FTRA and scooping up water, not a problem with this intake and it also picks up air thats in the air, not right off the pavement, which is usually a few degrees hotter. Is it worth $200 or $300 or whatever they want over a lid? I dont think so, but SCC jacked me around for almost a month on getting my hood to me, my lid was cracked in the wreck so I would have had to have spent another $100 anyways, and I got this thing on a ridiculous discount, so I went ahead and grabbed it.

I have the Raptor hood, but I run the TSP lid with FTRA and SSRA extension.

Here's a pic.
