lol,

anything I should be aware of before I go doing this to my car? Like avoid spraying degreaser on any certain part or something?

I hope not. I sprayed damn near everything. If you're doing the engine bay too, just watch the PCM, coil packs, dipsticks, fuses, stuff like that. I like to cover anything sensitive with aluminum foil to keep the water away. But for the underbody, SPRAY AWAY!

LOL.

Ok, so spray away I will. Engine bay is very clean, except you know... the dust buildup after a week or two. Will rinse it down, and while Im there I will clean the tb the best I can.

Thanks!

LOL. I powerwashed the rear, but I don't think it did much like I did up front by hand. My driveway shined like a multicolor rainbow from the grease rolling down it

Huge improvement, I can relate. But I dont drive mine in any sort of foul weather. Rain, drizzle, snow etc. What I would do not is throw on some sort of rust inhibitor. I use this stuff made by a company called LPS comes in a teal/green can. They use it in the aviation industry and in a lot of steel mills and other small shops-

My 99

Ok so I just finished doing this a while ago.

I was wondering how you got an easy view of the rack. Then I came in here and saw you had plenty of aftermarket parts lol. I only got to do the oil pans and under the engine block. Toook for ever with the little steel brush i had

I was using Simple Green, worked pretty good. Came out looking like a dalmation, but hey! I left it pretty damn clean. I cleaned the throttle body a bit. I want to inject MCCC into the intake to leave the internals very clean.

What was all that stuff stuck in your tranny cooler? My radiator was clean except for a paper towel stuck up in a corner.

^^ Sounds like you had a good time! I used MCCC about a month or so ago. Was extremely easy to get in there, I hooked it up to the vacuum line on the TB.

And I don't know, it was just gunk. It was leaking a bit a while ago so I think some stuff got caked in there.

Oh, I did! I got the water hose and just had it cracked a bit while I scrubbed away all the grease buildup. My arms were black and face looked like I got splattered by a ballon filled with oil.

How much was the MCCC bottle? Ive looked around here, but nobody has it

Uhhh 7 or 8 bucks if I remember correctly? Go to any local dodge dealerships. If there's a specific "dealership" that's for Parts & Service ONLY.. go there. That's where I found it. Apparently, ALL the warehouses are out of it. The only bit that's left is the stock at dealerships and parts centers.

Came out nice, right?

You guys should see my engine bay now. I bought some engine detailer (not degreaser) ...omg.. Everything looks BRAND NEW

Post pics of the engine bay when you get a chance.

I've been thinking of using that engine detailer, but unsure if dirt will stick to it badly. Also... did you spray the whole engine bay (including the belts)? Or did you avoid the belts? Last thing I want is, for it to start squeaking badly.

I will give the dealerships another shot again, nobody had any when I checked a while back.

What grit of Sandpaper did you use on the exhaust?
Did you use a spray bottle with water to keep it damp, is it really necessary to wetsand?

I usually go to Fort Knox and put it up on a lift for a couple of bucks per hour. I will be changing the oil in a couple of weeks and plan on cleaning up underneath at the same time.

Yours definately looks much better....

I used 400, then 600, then 1000, then 2000, then a buffer with a white pad and metal polish. You need to keep the area wet. the spray bottle with soap keeps it lubricated.
