I think the Ultra Z hood is the best one to get on a Camaro personally. I don't like the Double Vision one because it looks too much like a WS-6 hood for a Camaro and the SS hood is seen far too often on them. Stay unique to your style though

ss all the way....follows the lines of the camaro the best, if u ask me. the ultra z looks good from some angles, but its just too gawdy from others. u gotta admit the ss hood flows with the car perfectly!!

well since it was so close, I made the decision to go with the SS hood. I like how it flows so well with the lines of the car and plus I have a set of 35th Anniversary stripes from GM ready to put on. Anyway, thanks for voting and will post pics once I get it.

Oh another thing I would like to know. How much can I expect to pay to have it painted?

Depends on the shop but if you go with an OEM SS hood you are looking at $300-$450 as loing as they do not need to fix any issues.

On aftermarket hoods again between $300-$700 (again depends if they need to fix issues with the hood) my ASCD SS hood cost $300 to paint they shop just had to do the basic prep work and did not have to fix anything.

Personally I've started to really like the look of the stock Z hood with the comboination of the SS spoiler. That may sound weird but I really like that look.

Ya, there will be no prep work, its primed and ready to paint so I am going to call around this week to get some quotes. And yes BlackWS602, the SS spoiler would look cool with the Z hood, but I am probably going to get one after I get my SS hood, just to make things even (but I am going to keep my Z28 badges, not going to make it an fake SS!)

I like the double vision, and everyone loves it,, well except for the people on the car forums.
and most of them dont even own their own car.

But in person it looks and talks for its self

That is what (or should be) this board is about. Build the car you want. Then post the pictures on the board.

i have the US Exotics Warbird hood (double vision??) not mounted yet though. i have the gfx on my car, so the hood flows better than with the lines on the stock looking camaros. everyone and their mother has an ss hood, yeah it looks good, but its just overplayed. getting an aftermarket one takes away from the novelty of a real SS. it makes the hood less special if thats on every car where the owner wanted an aftermarket hood.
