also forgot to mention that I have the concealed display modded with color led's for each band. this is awesome so you can identify the radar band at night. I have it inside my bezel/gauges.

you saw it right Detoxx?
I most likely did but don't remember

I have my 8500x50 resting atop the mirror, using the supplied suction cups. It's hidden behind the tint strip. I have it hardwired too--bought a hardwire kit off ebay for 5-10 bucks (Very easy & highly recommended.)

I ran the wire behind the headliner. When you have the T-Top off, you will notice 2 screws in your A-pillar, undoing those lets you take the plastic pillar cover off. I ran the wire down the A-pillar & used a fuse-tap on the (+) wire, and hooked it onto the Radio fuse*. Just grounded the (-) wire to a bolt on the A-pillar.

Very satisfied. Good luck.

*Radar comes on when I start the car, and turns off when the car shuts off.

when you your radio is on your v1 gets power. now if you want it off while having the key on the on position or the stereo on just turn the **** on the v1 to the off position.

the valentines is one the best radar detectors in the market. for speed cameras you more than likely will need something like a cheetah rear view mirror. what that does it can update you where all the red camara lights are on and it starts to warn you etc.

i've got my v1 hard wired just above the rear view mirror. from the outside, you can't see it unless you crouch down by the doors and look up. when the top is down, everyone behind me sees it. when i press the unlock button my remote, it turns on. it runs off the power fed to the rear view mirror.

in this picture i've got a walmart purchased cobra radar detector, but i've got the v1 in its place now with the extra wires tucked into the headliner. the v1 has less of a shiny profile and hides behind the tint better.

If you run the power off the rear view dont you have to turn the light on and leave it on?

nope. power goes to that thing even when its off (it has a switch). but after you lock the car, power to the mirror is killed (a few minutes later).

are their any sensors that you mount outside the car? on the front or the rear? Also does having a dark tint on the glass matter at all?

Not the greatest pictures but you will get the idea. It's a Escort that's been hardwired. I love how stealth it is and how easy it comes off its suction mount.

bobbyd: Did you get the blendmount that has the hinge? I don't want to pay the extra for the "hinged" model if its not necessary. Their website also states the V1 should be at a slight angle for easier removal.
