Default Radar Detector Setups

Alright lets see some slick detector setups. Im wanting to pick up a V1 before long. Me and my buddy got back from the lsx shootout in a record time shaved about an hour and some and his cobra saved us a few times. Since Ive had 5 tickets in 5 years I think its time to get one and Im only gonna buy the best. Just curious to see what u guys have and a clean way to install it!

I've got a V1 hard wired in right next to me rear view mirror. Don't have any pics of it yet but I'll throw some up later. I love my V1 and wouldn't trade it for anything.

I just looked up that blendmount and that is slick, I might have to get one of those down the line and hardwire it. Might have to live with the traditional setup for a bit though after dropping 400 on this thing.

I run a K40 front and rear with jammer and difuser. Kicks ***, and they pay for your tickets if you get one.

My Valentine One is hard wired, and the main unit is up on the headliner. I have a remote display mounted on my shifter console, seen here:

https://ls1tech.com/forums/appearanc...mblempros.html

I've had a cop pull me over (the only time I've been pulled over - he got me with a laser) and he knew I had a radar detector (I slammed on the brakes as soon as he pegged me), but I had to point out where it was since he didn't see it on the windshield I got the old "Son, you know those things don't work, right?"

That time it didn't...but I can't count how many times it has saved my *** in all the other situations.

I have a K40 system, fully built in with front and rear detectors.

Here are the LEDS, top one flashes when the front picks up radar, and bottom flashes when the rear picks up radar.

Here is the on/off switch. Also switches between city and highway mode, and controls the volume for the beeps. Its right under the steering wheel and can only be seen if you poke your head down there.

This is the front radar detector, right under the top lip of the bumper, it rests on the metal bumper support, out of sight unless you know what to look for.

Here is the rear, attached to the bottom of the bumper.

if you're talking to me i connected the + and - wires into my stereo wires.
then I ran the wires under the steering wheel and then up through the drivers a pillar and then under the headliner and dropped the wire next to the rear view mirrors wire.

i think it that what I just said might make it hard to visualize.

on saturday when I hardwire my SS ill take some pics of the process.

you got it man just let me know when you get it.

also forgot to mention that I have the concealed display modded with color led's for each band. this is awesome so you can identify the radar band at night. I have it inside my bezel/gauges.

you saw it right Detoxx?
