Then why does GM do it on so many cars now & the last few years?!?
GM trucks, all the Caddy's, Northstar engines, Corvette covers, etc., etc., ...

I don't think should be an issue. The materials used to make these & the OE GM covers will take the heat, & the heat shouldn't not hurt an engine running at 220degrees all day. Those components are made to take the heat in the first place.

That one-piece unit sits up off the intake & accessories a little bit, so there is probably airflow thru there anyway.

It's just like the splitters & other accessories, ..., some like'em, some don't.
Personally I really like the clean look with the coils moved & the smooth valve covers.
(But my car has the Corvette custom FRC's yet too tho, ...)

They wont fit a FAST.

Well they'll fit as well as regular FRC's fit, which is bad, you have to trim alot.

I wouldnt wanna spend 600 bucks on these to trim them.

We have the fast intake on our LS2 engine, our mold is scribed for the stock intake and the fast intake. And the part is trimmed out for the customer's specification. Here's an LS2 pic with grey gelcoat. Sure we could arrange that
