Default Gauge Overlay

Anyone try any of these from ebay?

What's the quality? They're cheap and I can't really tell from the pics. How well do they line up? How well does the light shine through.

I have them on my 98. They are pretty good for the price. They line up almost perfect (one turn signal is a bit off, but that's it) and light up fine.
Here's a pic

^^^^
Where they very difficult to line up? I just got the HVAC and headlight combo from them. I'll get the gauge overlay next week. I plan on getting the shifter overlay from Macewen and the gauge decal (Z28)/firebird gauge bezel from Specialized Stainless.

Love the idea of not having to remove the needles.

The price is bangin...

Nope, not difficult at all. They are similar to the Macewens, no needle removal and they can be pulled off and stuck back on to get them lined up better. I also have the HVAC and headlight overlays from them as well.

i prefer the 6LE ones to those if im honest, not saying they are bad but my cluster is completely custom. those are different and better than stock, but a lot of people have them as well. guess its an issue of being unique with me. lighting with those should be equal to stock

I am pretty sure those are what Mike (Sommer) had on his car... They seemed fine. For what it is worth though, he took them off after a month and ordered McNords, lol...

Do they sell those cheaper ones in silver? I have only ever seen white... For silver you need to hit Steve (Yofab now) up for the left over MacEwans before those are gone as well...

If anyone is interested, I bought these from a member a couple of years ago and cut them up and made them look like the posts above. they still work fine.

IDK, to me.. ^^^those look kinda fake...kinda ricer'ish with the 2 big glowing circles!
Not authentic looking like Macewens or 6LE!

What in the hell do you mean by authentic? OEM?

I don't like the gauges he posted either, but I just can't figure out what in the hell you mean by authentic.

I've heard alot of people have those white gauges ones off ebay.
They come in a variety of covers, but it's an additional $30 to add the color.

I've only seen white ones so far. I'd like to get silver though. That price was certainly cheap thought at around $30.

they sell them in silver if you go to the whitegauges site. I bought em. I would suggest not buying them. $65 bucks for plastic stuff. They do not stick very well on the gauges and peel off a bit in the heat. I had to use some superglue to keep them on the gauge faces.

Maybe "authentic" wasn't the right choice word, what I mean is that IMO, the cheap ones sometimes look....well cheap, whereas the higher priced ones like say for instance 6LE, wherein you can customize it and it has IMO, a higher quality look to them!

I had a Reverse Glow Gauge on my '95, and I liked it alot, but to me, I would get a Macewen or 6LE gauge overlay any day of the week!
